Columbia-Greene Names Dr. Victoria Walsh as their next Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, and Strategic Initiatives.

Dr. Victoria Walsh is an experienced educator and executive-level leader in higher education having held numerous roles including Senior Vice President, Chief Mission and Strategic Planning Officer, Chief Student Affairs Officer, Chief Advancement Officer, and Assistant Professor. An accomplished teaching professional with a dual specialism in criminal justice/sociology and leadership. A speaker, consultant, and presenter on a range of leadership, education, mission advancement, and institutional identity topics, especially where they intersect. Experienced in mission integration and advancement, strategic planning, organizational change and development, performance improvement, leading new strategic initiatives, and assisting organizations to operate more successfully through their mission. Experienced in building effective and mission-inspired teams.

She is an authentic and transformative leader who is committed to personal and professional growth. Victoria has a genuine passion for inspiring and enabling her team and the institution to thrive. She is a committed advocate for students and their holistic development, knowing first-hand the challenges and opportunities of being a first-generation student. Her philosophy is that access to a good education can provide equity and improved life chances, not just for students but also for their families, enhancing the economic prosperity of their communities.

In her announcement to the Campus Community, President Carlee Drummer stated: “With great excitement, I am pleased to announce that after an intensive and thorough search process, Dr. Victoria Walsh has been selected to serve as Columbia-Greene’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Student Development, and Strategic Initiatives starting on October 9, 2023. The majority of her campus-wide evaluations highlighted that Dr. Walsh takes pride in being a transformative leader committed to student success.”

In speaking about the appointment of two new vice presidents at the College, President Drummer said, “Columbia-Greene is fortunate indeed to have attracted two stellar Vice Presidents who will build on the current momentum and take the College to its next level of distinction.
