Massasoit Community College Names Ray DiPasquale as Their 7th President

d DiPasquale to the Board of Higher Education last month. DiPasquale most recently served as President of Clinton Community College in Plattsburgh, New York.

Following a nationwide search, DiPasquale was one of three finalists that met with college and community stakeholders. After thorough deliberation, DiPasquale was unanimously confirmed by the Board of Trustees on April 15.

“The Board looks forward to working with Mr. DiPasquale as we begin to write the next chapter in Massasoit’s history,” said Thomas E. Carroll, Jr., acting chair of the Board of Trustees at Massasoit. “Ray’s extensive experience in higher education leadership, community service, and his commitment to students are key to the continued success of Massasoit Community College.”

Prior to his appointment as President of Clinton Community College in 2017, DiPasquale was a consultant for the Rhode Island Board of Education and served as President of the Community College of Rhode Island from July 2006 to January 2016. DiPasquale also served as commissioner of higher education for the Rhode Island Board of Governors for Higher Education (now the Rhode Island Board of Education), as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at the SUNY College at Brockport, and in a number of leadership positions at Springfield Technical Community College. He began his career in higher education at Middlesex Community College.

DiPasquale holds a master’s degree from Northeastern University and a bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Tech University. He also received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters bestowed by the New England Institute of Technology.

“With 14 years of community college experience, we are confident that Ray will engage our community and help to see Massasoit thrive in the years to come,” added Ann Sullivan, chair of the presidential search committee and secretary of the college’s Board of Trustees.

DiPasquale will serve as the college’s seventh president. He succeeds Dr. Gena Glickman, who retired in January 2021. Dr. Brenda Molife, vice president of outreach and engagement at Bridgewater State University, has led the college as Interim President since January 2021 while the search for a permanent president was underway.

North Shore Community College Names William Heineman as its New President

The Massachusetts Board of Higher Education has unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. William Heineman as North Shore Community College’s fifth president. Dr. Heineman will assume the presidency on July 1, 2021.

Dr. Heineman is currently the Provost at Northern Essex Community College. He is deeply familiar with Massachusetts’ public higher education system and its participants having amassed a decades-long record of successive leadership and service as a faculty member, administrator in academic affairs and student affairs, and much more at NECC. MA BHE Chair Chris Gabrieli praised Heineman’s leadership at NECC, particularly in developing its early college and CBE programs.

“I am proud and humbled by the endorsement of the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education for the North Shore Community College Presidency.  It was wonderful to have so many members of the North Shore Board of Trustees in attendance at the BHE meeting showing their support, Dr. Heineman said.  “I am excited to work with the NSCC Trustees to launch a new era at the college.  I look forward to starting at North Shore in early July and going to work for its students, faculty, staff and the communities it serves.

“President Bryant and his leadership team have been enormously helpful as I get up to speed and I appreciate and welcome their support.  My focus will be on helping our students reach the life goals they bring to NSCC and on supporting our employees in their efforts to take good care of the students.  When our students achieve significant improvements in their lives as a result of their North Shore Community College education, they raise up all of our communities,” he noted.

Dr. Heineman holds an Ed.D from the University of Massachusetts Boston, an MPP from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and a BA in history from the University of Rochester, NY. In addition, Dr. Heineman participated in the Aspen Presidential Fellowship for Community College Leadership, the American Association of Community Colleges Future Leaders Institute, and the Massachusetts Community College Leadership Academy.

NSCC Board of Trustees Chair Dr. J.D. Holy Family University Board of Trustees Names Dr. Anne Prisco as Sixth President

Over the course of her impressive career, Dr. Prisco has served as an administrator, faculty member, researcher and consultant. From 2012-2020, Dr. Prisco served at Felician University (then Felician College), where she was also their first lay leader.  Dr. Prisco successfully led Felician University through a transformational period. Felician University is now thriving with record-breaking increases in enrollment and improvements in student success, a focus on inclusive excellence, shared governance, new partners, programs, growing net revenue and continued facilities enhancements.

Prior to the presidency at Felician, Dr. Prisco served in a number of higher education institutions, including as a Vice President at Loyola Marymount University, a faculty member at St John’s University, and a policy researcher at New York University.

Dr. Prisco holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona with highest distinction, an MBA in Finance from Fordham University, and a PhD in Economics and Education from Columbia University. She is the recipient of numerous academic, leadership, and service awards including a public policy fellowship from Columbia University, named a Top 50 Business Women in New Jersey, and the Wise Woman award from the National Organization for Italian-American Women.

Dr. Prisco is frequently invited to speak on higher education policy, leadership and transformational change.  She has served on both state and national boards.

Dr. Prisco is currently on the Board of both DePaul University and DeSales University, and a contributing faculty at Pepperdine University’s School of Graduate Education and Psychology.
