THOMAS K. DaRIN has recently joined RHPA to serve as the firm’s enrollment management practice leader. For 25 years, Tom served Nazareth College in Rochester, New York, the last 13 as the Vice President for Enrollment Management. After joining Nazareth in 1987, he was the Director of Admissions for the College for eight years, then served as the Dean of Admissions for five years before taking on the vice presidential role.
During Tom’s tenure at Nazareth, full time enrollment grew 65% and quality metrics, such as high school GPA and SAT scores, improved dramatically. Nazareth was the leading producer of Fulbright Scholars in the Masters Institutions category for 2012 and 2013, US News’ “Best Colleges” and top tier ranking and Princeton Review’s “Best 378 Colleges.”
Earlier in his career Tom held admissions and financial aid positions ranging from entry-level admissions counselor to acting director for Long Island University, and taught at West Genesee Central Schools.
As an Associate with Lahti Search Consultants from May of 2013 to June of 2014, Tom assisted eight colleges with their searches for enrollment management professionals. The client institutions included national and regional liberal arts colleges, comprehensive universities, a Jesuit college, and an Early College institution. Most recently, Tom provided interim leadership for the College of Mount Saint Vincent and assisted the College in its search for a new Vice President for Enrollment Management.
Tom and his family reside in Penfield, New York. Tom is actively involved in the community, serving as a trustee for the Allendale Columbia School and Discovery Charter School, and as a Facilitator for the Spiritus Christi Prison Outreach at the Five Points Correctional Facility.
Tom received his Masters of Science in Secondary Education from the State University of New York, College at Cortland in 1981 and a Masters of Science in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University in 1984
